Flight Delayed
Being delayed on a flight is always a bummer. I never minded it too much on my outbound flights, but hated it when I was heading home. You great it with mixed emotions when you are heading on a trip that includes both work and vacation.
In case you didn’t guess, our flight from Houston to Newark (the first leg of the Madrid flight) is delayed. Our takeoff is delayed by 50 minutes, our landing by only 20. It is one of those “in flight magic” things that makes you lose confidence in the airline industry. Do they flight faster? Do they get preferential treatment on the runways? Do they just jigger the schedules? It is a big mystery to me.
Of course, if we miss our flight to Madrid, who knows what travel nightmare that will initiate? We will have to spend the night in New York, and then when will we get to Madrid? We had hoped to have a day to relax and enjoy the city before I started working. Of course I am borrowing trouble right now. The flights are scheduled such that we will make it with no problem. Let’s hope so.
